May was National Foster Care Month and the Foster Care Program of Sojourners s celebrated by joining thousands of foster care networks across the country in honoring the twentieth anniversary of Foster Care Month.
In a recent ceremony, staff and guests tied blue ribbons to trees in the front of Sojourners to recognize and honor foster care families, school staff, mentors, advocates, social workers and other community supporters who strive to create brighter futures for young people in foster care. Staff and supporters of the Sojourners also wore blue lapel ribbons as part of the celebration.
